Practical Steps On Dealing With Latest Covid 19 Guidelines For Weddings
NEW COVID 19 GUIDELINES - 22/09/2020
THIS IS SHIT
For our 2020 Autumn/Winter bride, we’re so sorry this has happened again to you. Cry, be angry and let it all out. It’s totally unfair and beyond frustrating. But! You have to start making progress with coming to terms with the new rules and making a new plan.
WHAT DO WE KNOW?
- Wedding ceremonies and receptions will be capped at 15 people from Monday.
- This will “perhaps last 6 months”.
- Office workers who can work from home should do so.
- Pubs, bars and restaurants in England will be ordered to close by 10pm each night.
- The hospitality sector will be restricted to table service only.
- Face coverings must be worn in taxis and private hire vehicles, and by retail staff while at work.
- Customers in indoor hospitality will also have to wear face coverings - except while seated at a table to eat or drink.
- The exemptions to the rule of six will be reduced, banning indoor team sport - such as five-a-side football matches.
- The planned return of spectators to sports venues will now not go ahead from October 1.

And to our 2021 bride, riddled with anxiety and uncertainty, we know all you want is to take control and get some calmness back in your life. Try not to obsess over the news for now, turn it off, and try to stay calm.
Check out these next few steps to help you deal with WTF is going on…!!
1. DON’T PANIC
Take a deep breath and remember weddings aren’t completely cancelled so you can still have your special day if you wish and go from this trail of thought…
2. BREAK IT DOWN
Try your best to take the emotion out of these decisions. Break down your non-negotiable and the compromises you’re happy to go with to work out the possible solutions to help you deal with the anxiety of deciding what to do.
3. TRUST YOUR DECISION
If you’re both freaking out, get out for a walk just you two and discuss everything you’re concerned about. Once you’ve agreed on your new plan, commit to it and don’t dwell on what could have been.
Before you go ahead and share your decision, sleep on it for a couple of days. Don’t be afraid to ask people not to bombard you with questions or chat about it.
4. APPROACH YOUR DECISION
If you’re cutting down your list, don’t get too caught up about telling your friends and family. Remember we’re all in this together and the vast majority of people will understand and will just want the best for you.
It’s super personal with how you decide to tell people your new plans and explain why they’re no longer coming to your day, but what you must do is not feel guilty, be open and clear. That’s all you can do.
5. TALK TO LIKEMINDED BRIDE BABES
It’s helpful to hear how others are dealing with their decisions, and get some un-triggering (important!!) support. You can join our BRIDEY HANGOUT our on Facebook.
